- 1. Prepare your surface and give your UV DTF Transfer a pre-squeegee.
Setting Up the Area: Before applying the UV DTF Transfer, wash the item's surface with soap and water or a 50/50 solution of rubbing alcohol and water. The surface becomes more resilient to wear and tear the cleaner it is.
Pre-Squeegee: Lay the design face down with the white side facing up after cutting out your UV DTF Transfer. Apply firm pressure and move the included squeegee or credit card back and forth three to five times over the area. This squishes the artwork onto the clear carrier sheet.
- 2. Removing The White Backing From The Clear Carrier Sheet
Make a tiny tear to release the clear carrier sheet from the white backing. Keep tearing away from the design. Next, take the clear carrier sheet off of the white backing VERY SLOWLY. This guarantees that each element of your design will lift onto the transparent carrier sheet. If not, place it back down, use the squeegee once more, and attempt to pull the area that didn't lift from a different angle. Peeling should be done more slowly the more thin and divided design elements there are, like small text. You don't have to be as careful when the design elements are larger.
- 3. Attaching the UV DTF Transfer to your item
Determine the item's placement area first. Next, arrange the design so that it begins at one side and ends at the other. This will assist with placement control, lessen bubbles beneath the design, and prevent the carrier sheet from wrinkling, which could result in offset or overlapping design elements. Advice: To make it easier to hold, leave one edge of the carrier sheet elevated.
- 4. Last Step of UV DTF Transfer Application
Once it is in place, apply firm pressure to it by moving the padded end of the squeegee back and forth three times. This makes your product stick to itself. To keep something to grip, avoid squeezing over the edge of the squeegee. Now is the time to peel VERY SLOWLY. Once more, make sure every component of your design stays on your item by checking carefully as you peel. Grip inward as you peel to keep the peel under control. If none of the components transfer, you can try laying the clear carrier sheet down again, giving it another good squeeze, and trying to pull the area that didn't lift from a different angle.
